I was born January 1980 in Thessaloniki, the biggest and most beautiful Greek city of Macedonia. I entered the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1999 and got my degree in 2005. My diploma thesis was on Artificial Neural Networks and their Applications with prof. C. Eleftheriadis as my advisor.
In July 2005 I was admitted at the Physics Department of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with the CMS group, doing physics analyses (mainly Z + Jets in the electron channel) and also working on hardware (Regional Calorimeter Trigger). In January 2008 I moved at CERN, to do my thesis research and do my part in starting the greatest physics experiment ever: the Large Hadron Collider. My interests start from Particle Physics and extend to Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence and Chaotic Systems.
My hobbies include listening to music (mostly rock of any kind and era) and digital photography. Unfortunately, I don’t have many opportunities to practice the second because it involves going outside of the office…
